Come join us for a night of fellowship, great tenderloin, beer & wine, and a great cause – Cobbs Creek Foundation. Spend the evening with the man who we listen to every Sunday as we cheer on our Eagles “On the Road To Victory.” The man we know as The Voice of our Philadelphia Eagles.
For MERRILL REESE, 2024 marks his 48th consecutive season as the Philadelphia Eagles’ play-by-play broadcaster, the longest-serving current play-by-play announcer in the NFL. Throughout his illustrious career, Merrill has received a myriad of professional awards and recognitions including induction into the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame in 2016.
Most recently, on August 2, 2024 at its Annual Dinner in Canton, Ohio, the Pro Football Hall of Fame presented Merrill with its 2024 Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award “in recognition of longtime exceptional contribution to radio and television in professional football.” Merrill delivered gracious acceptance remarks to more than 4,000 people in attendance at the Hall of Fame’s Dinner.
Over almost five decades, Merrill has delighted Eagles fans with legendary play calls of some of the most memorable moments in Eagles history, whether it was multiple “Miracles of the Meadowlands,” Jake Eliot’s 61-yard field goal (“It’s Gooooood!”), or various Eagles Super Bowl LII victory events (Brandon Graham’s strip-sack and the incredible “Philly Special’).
Through it all, the good, the bad and the ugly (and there has been plenty of each), there has been one constant for Eagles diehards: MERRILL REESE! His call of the last play of Super Bowl LII was emblematic of Merrill’s great love of the game of football and Eagles fans. As Tom Brady (who already had over 500 passing yards in the game) prepared to throw a last-second Hail Mary pass into the Patriots end zone…WAIT, let Merrill describe it!!
“ [Brady] steps up, he’s hit, he stumbles, he is throwing it deep for the end zone…
It’s batted around [pause] and INCOMPLETE! And the game is over!
The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions!!
Eagles fans everywhere, this is for you!
Let the celebration begin!
…the greatest fans in the world have their Super Bowl!”
Still sends a shiver up this man’s spine!
All proceeds from this event will benefit Merrill Reese's foundation of choice, the Cobbs Creek Foundation [cobbscreek.org]. Their mission to create an all-inclusive golf and educational facility for the diverse youth of the Philadelphia area. By revitalizing this legendary landmark, they will create an economically sustainable public campus which will offer world-class golf and provide educational and community programming. The revenue from this restored historic Philadelphia golf course built in 1916 will be invested into educational programming, community programming, and scholarships. This model will create exciting educational opportunities and increased revenue and tourism for the City – all while cultivating community cohesiveness. Founded in 2018, Cobbs Creek Foundation has been on a journey ingrained with 3 core values: Community, Education, and Restoration. Learn more about the Cobbs Creek Foundation here [cobbscreek.org].
